I swear, the Atlantic Ocean is bipolar! It went from overhead and warm water down to knee-high and frigid in about six hours. Luckily, stand up paddleboards keep you (mostly) out of that super-cold water and make those knee-high waves a lot of fun to surf. Drew and I took advantage of the super-fun, mellow waves, and Stuart was kind enough to hold the video camera for a few minutes. Thanks, Stu! Enjoy the video, everyone:
Two days later, it was overhead and heaving again. Here’s Chad making it look easy:

And now, it’s gone completely flat again. What do they call that? A box of chocolates? In any case, it sure does make you want to get on it and not waste a single minute, because you never know how long it’ll last!

Every time i leave the beach thinking i finally caught a tail or fin of the porpoises/dolphins i get nothing. That video was full of them. Did the water temps bring em in?
Hey Hotmach- The ocean is teeming with wildlife, all winter long… I'm no biologist, but I have a feeling that the two ocean currents keep a huge variety of bait fish in the area. We've got both 38 degree water and 55 degree water on our shores at the moment, and the gulf stream is only a few miles off shore at 70 degrees… That's a lot of habitats in a relatively small area! That's just my guess, I'm certainly no expert… I can tell you for sure, though, that surfing and sailing with a pod of dolphins is a REALLY cool experience!
Wow this is a naughty post about dominant ladies
