Go-for-it Gorge sailor Beric Wells sent us in this funny little tidbit. While we’re sure you’re not jealous of his winter, you might be jealous of his birthday cake.

Some people are able to sail all winter — I’m left eating cake. Hah! My kids did a good job of reproducing my kit for the cake! Of course, my board was in the dining room when they were making their paper copy. How did it get there?
No west winds in a very long time now — over two months. I did sail an easterly at Stevenson at dark:30 a couple weeks ago. So sweet to be on the water again. So funny to not be able to see the swell except for the whitewater.
Also attached a shot from one of the fun days I wrote to you about last winter. Tony Price took the photo in winds averaging in the 40s with gusts approaching 60 mph. He was wearing multiple jackets and three hats – I was on the water!

Anyways, while we’re sharing funny photos, check out this last one from a Hood River Halloween. My buddy Damon made this and put it on the top of his truck front and center of the River City Saloon for Halloween. Complete with a sickle through the board as a fin, dry ice, lights, etc. Only cost him money and a few days of work. He did it all with a broken arm from a 4.2 on a 3.2 day, too. Windsurfing will never die!
