Canadian Masters Fast Approaching

Dryden, Ontario (July 22, 2010) – After three years of planning, the 2010 Canadian Masters and first ever CAN-AM challenge is rapidly approaching, taking place in Dryden, Ontario, along with its Centennial Birthday Celebrations.

Northwest Ontario Windsurfing has been working diligently towards what will be the city’s biggest weekend-long party ever. With over 100 competitors planning to attend during the August 6 – 8 weekend and a very large US contingent already committed, regatta weekend will include a Team Canada vs. Team USA, or a “CAN-AM Challenge”. Watch for this sail CAN757: Brad Woodworth a.k.a. Windsurf Woody who lives and sails in Dryden and is spearheading this event.

This challenge will see each country’s top 5 sailors overall (based on total points after the three days of racing), whether it be man, women, youth, or master. The winning team will then be awarded a cash prize of $2,010.00!! So, the top sailors will not only be racing for themselves, but for their country and team as well!

If you are interested in learning more about this sport be sure to arrive on Thursday, August 5th as Andrée Gauthier, one of Canada’s top racers will be holding a “Learn to Race” Clinic at Sandy Beach Park. Other venues during the weekend include local cuisine like Buster’s Barbeque; a market square with vendors from the region; and starting Saturday at 1 pm be ready to rock the night away with local and regional artists like Bootleg Vinyl; the Ricci Band and Pass the Pineapple.

Local Event Planner with the Dryden Development Corporation, Alyssa Pronger, suggests you arrive early as there is only seating for 400 along the waterfront. Look for the Big Top at Sandy Beach Park for play-by-play of the event on Dryden’s new electronic leader board and the Big Top will be wired by WiFi; supplied by DMTS.

Parking and admission are FREE to the event. Parking attendants will be on hand to direct and assist you. Accessible and vendor parking will be located at Sandy Beach park entrance and additional traffic will be directed to the Dryden Ball Diamonds and Dickson Road parking areas. For more information, visit www.ExperienceDryden.ca or call Alyssa Pronger at 807-220-1278 or the Visitor Information Centre 1-800-667-0935.

  1. Doing a bit of internet surfing and noticed your website appears somewhat screwed up in my K-meleon web browser. However fortunately scarcely anyone makes use of it any more but you might want to look into it.

  2. This is a very cool article, I could not have agreed more.

  3. Nice post. I learn something more difficult on different blogs day-to-day. It will always be stimulating to learn content from other writers and practice a little from their store. I’d prefer to use some with all the content on my website whether you don’t brain. Natually I’ll give a link on your web blog. Thanks for sharing.
