kristinOne of windsurfing's leading sail brands will see a change in their USA/Canada distribution. After 5 years of being successfully distributed by BIC Sport North America, Matt Pritchard and Liquid Sports will continue to maintain Gaastra's strong presence in the North American market.
“We have chosen to pass the distribution over to Matt and Liquid Sports in order to focus our efforts and energy to the BIC Sport specialty products - Gaastra have been well received in the market and I wish Matt great success,” said BIC Sport North America's director of sales and marketing. As a past World Champion, Matt knows all the details of the Gaastra brand. For 11 years, he has been highly involved with the R&D, promotion and management of the International team.
Gaastra is one of the longest standing sail brands in the world. Famous for the invention of the Camber Inducer, Gaastra has produced numerous World Champions as well as some of the best windsurfing products in the market. Gaastra's present strength is evident with Kevin Pritchard, US-3, a 6 time World Champion and major contender for the 2008 PWA Slalom World Title. The 19 year old newcomer, is the current PWA World Freestyle Champion and will be tough to beat in Freestyle as well as the wave discipline.
Matt Pritchard has been distributing Tabou boards for the past 2 years and will be expanding his focus to the Gaastra sails and masts- Matt commented, “I'm excited to pick up where Chris and the BIC Sport guys are leaving off - I have always had a great working relationship with them and am happy they are passing on the torch. I love the sport of windsurfing and will continue to spread the stoke as I endeavor on this opportunity!”
