Ben Barger wins Pan Am Trials

Since I don't know when, I've lived hoping and training to be that guy winning. For over 5 years I had to wait, earning my time with sweat and tears, and more tears. Much of the time being the only one reminding myself it'll come true. Well good news! First place arrived at the Pan Am Trials, and it's still sinking in that I won. I have waited four years since the last Pan Am trials and it finally came true! The regatta is over, I am soooo happy it is what I prayed for. I look at the shine on the gold medal…and smile from the moon and back. I think I made a statement too, I won all 9 races in the series, something more rare than snow in Florida, and I threw snowballs all week.

As this season is finally wrapping up…I take a one week break before getting back to the water and perfecting all that was absorbed this past season. But before that start I'll giggle like a kid and dance in the living room. I AM GOING TO RIO NEXT YEAR! Time to enjoy the hard work!

I can't be any happier..dreams are coming true..and I can't thank you more for helping them come true.

Sincerely Yours,
Ben Barger

P.S. I think my wife stole my Gold medal..I'll just have to win another :)
