After the event
that took place in Ireland during this past week, Daida Moreno took
once more the crown of the world wave windsurfing tour 2002. As
easy as it might seem, Daida had a tough battle during the year
with the swiss Karin Jaggi and the dutch windsurfer Anne Marie
Reichman, sailors that were enormously benefited by the injury that
the twin sister from Daida, Iballa had right before the Gran
Canaria Grand Slamm in early July, without that injury that has
kept Iballa away from the water for more than three months, the
battle for the top slot of the ranks would have been a family
affair, as the two beautiful and radical twin sisters from Gran
Canaria, prove day after day that the wave and freestyle crowns
talk Spanish.
With this new world title, the sixth in just four years forthe
two sisters, puts them in the elite group of athletes that will
make history. Daida holds now three PWA World Wave titles and one
Overall World Title and her twin sister Iballa has two World
WaveTitles, appart from other impressive achievements and prizes.
But the hunt for world titles is not over yet, Daida is currently
first in the Freestyle discipline ranks that will decide its title
in themonth of december, so we could be talking about another world
victory for this pair of latin beauties.
