Bearing a strong resemblance to Starboard’s groundbreaking Serenity sailboard, the Starboard K-15 stand up sailboard is a purebred flat-water specialist. Its 15 feet of length combined with the teardrop shape offer glide that’s unparalleled in the stand up paddleboard or windsurfing world — for smooth cruising, this board is it. Although the outline resembles the Serenity’s, a wider hull and flatter bottom make for a less technical ride that novice sailors can appreciate. The sunken deck enhances stability.

Best for:

Anybody who has a home on an inland lake; distance paddlers who need to cruise.

Can you teach on it?

Possible, but not ideal. The length makes learning transitions difficult, and it’s not as stable as other boards.
