Fanatic Fly Stand Up Sailboard
($1,599; fanatic.com)
Length: 10’6”
Width: 30.5”
Thickness: 4.3”
Volume: 180 liters
A practical middle-of-the-road windsurf board that’s small enough to offer thrills in the surf and big enough to float you and a sail in the lightest of wind. Soft rails up front with sharper edges in the back look to give this the feel of a smaller board. Flatter rocker is more tuned for flat-water cruising, and a flat deck and volume out wide make navigating your feet around the board a cinch.
Best for:
Mid-weight sailors who will occasionally play in the surf — whether with a sail or with a paddle.
Can you teach on it?
Absolutely — it’s got the width, volume and stability necessary for first-time sailors.
Features
— Available with either an impact-friendly HRS (high-resistance skin) or a stylish wood finish.

My wife has just purchased one & loves it.Flat water only at this stage but plenty stable for her (non surfer/sailor)
Just finished sailing and paddling the 10'6" at Bird Island Basin (Worldwinds) and my wife immediately bought one. A little small for me to paddle at 225 lbs, but was a super fast light wind cruiser with an 8.5 Ezzy Freeride and jibed easily. The 11'0" was much better for my fat ass to paddle.
