Starboard 2009 Kode

The Kode is the culmination of the work of Starboard's largest R&D team ever, including nine designers in four countries. One of those riders was Kevin Pritchard. “We developed it to make sure it worked in real-world conditions and isn't just a slow, turny wave board,” says Kevin. “It is fast, fun, jumps great, rides great and can do sideshore to onshore really well.” The Kode progresses through a freestyle wave shape in the smaller sizes to a fast free-ride shape in the larger sizes. One of the Kode's standout features is its spiraling vee concept - more vee in the front of the board than in the tail, which Starboard claims “delivers front-foot carving power and a forgiving nature in rotational freestyle moves.” The Kode is available in three constructions: wood, wood-carbon and Technora.
