WHAT WE LIKED: The red rocket was a favorite of many testers.
Plenty of float and planing power without sacrificing much else —
one tester noted it “looks big, but sails small.” Starboard’s “thin is in”
theme from last year carried over — a good thing.
BUYER BEWARE: One tester found the lack of nose rocker made him
nervous; others felt they needed a little bit of time to dial in its jibes.
BETTER THAN THE FLEET AT: Doing everything well, from freesailing
to wave-riding.
BEST SUITS: Intermediate to advanced riders looking for a safe bet
for high winds that they won’t outgrow.
OTHER HIGHLIGHTS: Ideal mast-track position pre-marked on the
board. Wood construction at $1,939, Technora construction at $1,689.
