I took a few runs with the new North Prisma at the Surf Expo demo days – and liked it enough to decide more testing was needed. Check out my first reaction below - and an exclusive interview with Doug Hopkins of North Sails.
First Glance: Powerful-looking two-cam sail with plenty of draft. Solid white upper monofilm panels, orange highlights in the head panels, luff sleeve, and foot. The Prisma utilizes North's 'One-Mast' concept – something we're stoked on because it cuts down on the amount of gear that's carried around. Plus, it's got North's new Hyper-cams to soften the rotation on the sail. (Note: if you haven't seen North's new video marketing campaign for the one-mast concept and Hyper-cam, check it out here. Very clever.)
Hitting the Water: North's claim for power in a small package is warranted – but what pleased me most about the Prisma was how easy it was to pump, especially for a cambered sail. Up on a plane, the center of effort seemed to move around a bit until I added some outhaul tension (it had been set at minimal or below minimal tension when I grabbed the sail off the beach) and after that, the power settled in very nicely. This could be an excellent sail for someone who wants a simple, gear-minimal quiver.

Many thanks spending some time to mention this, I believe strongly concerning this and love learning much more about this topic. If it is possible, just like you gain expertise, can you mind updating your site with extra information? It is rather great for me.
