What We Liked: For experts and heavyweights, it was a favorite for blending speed, comfort and fun into a fast ride. Three-quarter-length deck pad hugged our feet from the get-go. It was a jibing performer, provided there was assertive, constant rail pressure.

Buyer Beware: It wasn’t an autopilot board for lightweights, who found it fast but high-strung and scary also.

Better Than the Fleet at: Coddling expert testers with creature comforts at high speeds; causing outbursts of “yahoo!”

Best Suits: Aggressive intermediate to expert sailors, with a bias toward midsize and larger sailors.
