We have a very unusual and great looking “Woody” windsurfing
trailer that Pat and I built for our son, Jamie Park (who won the
1st Calema Junior Windsurfing Olympics a few years ago). Our son
had moved to Tampa, Florida to attend college at the University of
South Florida and didn't have time to keep loading his jeep when he
wanted to go sailing - (it's a 45 min. drive to hit the water) so
for XMAS we surprised him with the trailer.
Built of cypress, it accomodates his Superlite II (the nose
extends up to the nosecone), his Starboard Formula, and his Fanatic
Shark, has holders for four masts, the doors accomodate his fins
and mast bases/feet, his three booms hang from hooks and sails
stack neatly to the side of the boards; a custom holder for his fin
tool is attached to the wall so he doesn't have to rumage through
gear bags for it when he's in a hurry to hit the water; he stores
his cold weather gear, tent, chair, and other camping gear inside
also. There is a touch light inside for the occasion he comes in
after dark and padding throughout to ensure no damage to the gear.
The rear doors have “Wind Chaser” carved into them and a
custom-designed windsurfer is carved into the two sides of the nose
cone (hard to see in the pics). He now is able to hook-up and go -
enjoying the stares as he drives by with his custom “Wind Chaser”
rig on the way to the beach.
Sincerely,
Dee Dee Park
